LinkedIn Is Sending Us Far More Referral Traffic Than Twitter.com Now | Interesting From TechCrunch Blog

"If I asked you which of the major social sites you thought sent us the most traffic, you might think it was Twitter. After all, the TechCrunch Twitter account has over 1.7 million followers. When you compare this to the (just under) 250,000 fans our Facebook TechCrunch page has, it should be no contest, right? Wrong."  Continue reading the entry on go here TechCrunch...

I find it quite interesting that LinkedIn added LinkedIn Today has added a "social news product" that has driven a huge amount of traffic. Take a look for your self.

Worst 5 Web Design Mistakes | A Webinar Taught by Ben Hunt of Wordtracker

Ben Hunt of Wordtracker has been designing websites virtually since the web started about 17 years.  He’s built various different websites for many different entities and for many different applications.
I like this equation Ben provided which seems to be right on:
Success = Traffic X Conversion.

Here are the 5 mistakes:
  1. “No Research” - Answer: “Keyword Research”  I agree with this since it certainly is important to use key phrases in order to provide search engines a way in which to find you on the web.
  2. “Internal Perspective”  When designing a website people just throw one together based on what looks good from what they can see from the inside of their business.  But we all are moved by one thing “What’s In It For Me?” - Answer: Turn it around to an “External Perspective.”  So try to see your product or service from the customer’s perspective.  Make it about how your offer is going to solve what they need and not the product or service.
  3. “Singular”  People tend to try to sell several different things on their website. - Answer:  Concentrate on one thing with one website.
  4. “Not Selling” - Answer: Strong Calls to Action.  It is very important to make it very desirable to take the next step… to action.
  5. “Untested”  Ben says you must test.  Rule #1 is: You don’t know jack!  That’s why you must test your website copy to see what people respond to. - Answer: “Conversion Optimization”

Mining the Millennials | My Thoughts

The article is from a blog post by Darren Hardy on June 22, 2011.  He is the publisher of SUCCESS Magazine.
I am a fan of the Darren Hardy because of his amazing story of entrepreneurship throughout his life.
The first paragraph of Darren’s blog:
Millennials, also known as Gen Y-ers (80 million, born between 1980 and 1995), were raised by overly doting parents who coddled their self-esteem like fragile FabergĂ© eggs. They played in little leagues where the score wasn’t kept and where everyone was a winner and everyone got a trophy for just showing up.
True it is… if you are in the business of using any sort of technology in your business you will want people in the Millenials or Gen Y-ers on your team.
The post suggests that you understand these four principal "Millennial Values" and how to take action on them: People, Purpose, Profit and Productivity.

The 5 Things That 3% Leaders Do | Part Of My Daily Meditation

I am affiliated with a "mastermind" group that teaches us to do the following on a daily basis.  It is through consistent action on doing things daily that "The Compound Effect" will occur as stated in a book I am reading by Darren Hardy, publisher of SUCCESS magazine.

The 5 Things That 3% Leaders Do Daily

  1. Daily Visualization and Meditation on My Goals... "All my life I wanted to be someone... I should have been more specific."
  2. Income Producing Activities -  "It's ridiculous to lean on a shovel and pray for a hole."
  3. Personal Development
  4. Mastermind With Other Leaders -  Success always takes help.  Failure you can do alone.
  5. Cultivate The Expectation of Leadership - BE > DO > HAVE
I give thanks and credit to Jay Kubassek and John Jackson of CarbonCopyPRO as part of my mastermind group.  They planted a seed and have part in development of the above information.
